2014 Annual Cultural Exchange Event
Saisho: Japanese Calligraphy by Mrs. Ozaki Mrs. Ozaki will give a lecture and hold a workshop about her own creative arrangement of Japanese calligraphy she calls, Saisho, by using gansai, a Japanese style painting tool. "In
today's society, we can communicate with each other easily using the
internet or cell phones and do not need to read and write. People
thought that Japanese calligraphy was difficult and it became a
specialized field. Through Saisho, I hope that many people will
deepen their interest and understanding in the Japanese kana, kanji and
non-standard kana script and further appreciate the beauty of Japanese
culture," says the artist. This event is free (only the museum admissions fee is necessary). We look forward to seeing you!
